Finished

Dear friend,

My lace-edged shawlette is finally up on my Ravelry page, right here. It's been so long since I posted something on there!

My thoughts about the project: I loved it. As you can clearly see, I made lots of mistakes in the lace edging. It was my first time reading a lace chart, and my first time needing to heavily block a project for it to turn out at all. So there was a lot of learning going on. But then, when you look back on it, it really is a simple and straightforward project, so I would definitely recommend it to a beginning knitter. Which really I am, when you think about it! So much to learn.

I can't wait to get on to my next project, which will have to wait until my holiday house portrait orders are complete. But it's going to be an art-deco-y pinched turban hat I think, with a vintage brooch closure. If you're on Ravelry, add me so we can be friends! :)

Love,

Rebekka

Oh, and PS! I made a little film for Darling Magazine's website and my friend Hannah. Apparently, she is a very talented gingerbread house-maker! I certainly learned a lot just from making the film :)

Rebekka I think your shawlette is perfectly imperfect...I would just have admired it without looking for any flaws had you not insisted I could clearly see them...then I HAD to look and try to see them...and I am still not convinced :)
I watched your movie of the gingerbread house raising with such delight that my daughter and grands came to watch it too...and I explored Darling Magazine with great interest and appreciation for its mission and the talented feminine community involved in its creation.
Thanks for posting :) xx from Gracie

Ahh Rebekka, I've just joined Ravelry, may I friend you?
It seems like you and I both started with crochet and just learned knitting! I'm working on a crocheted lace shawl for my mother in law because I didn't think I'd be able to handle lace knitting just yet; I'm glad to see you recommend this!

Such a great little accent for the winter. It looks lovely, beautiful work. I consider myself a new knitter as well as I'm just coming on two years of working the needles, so I appreciate projects that are rather simple, but turn out so nice.
